Medanta and Dimex are both domestic companies whose clothes are designed in Finland. The Design from Finland mark is therefore an important common factor, and the value compatibility between the new partners is very strong in other respects as well. In addition to a larger joint offering, Dimex customers have the opportunity to utilize Medanta's laundry network. Alongside this, Medanta has a rental service available, which will also be accessible to Dimex customers in the future.
Medanta's rental agreements now also available to Dimex customers
According to Medanta's Business Director Mikko Soininen, the entire lifecycle of the garment is taken into account in Medanta's workwear rental model, and maintenance is arranged if the customer so desires. Together, Medanta and Dimex can offer an even more comprehensive textile rental service, which includes rental, cleaning, and repair. However, the customer always has the possibility to choose the services they want, and the starting point is to tailor the solution that best serves the customer in each case.
"We genuinely let the customer choose what is the best way for them to acquire workwear. The customer can acquire products through us and handle maintenance themselves, or conversely, acquire the clothes themselves and buy the maintenance from us. Then, of course, there is the total service solution, where the customer can outsource everything to us. For example, in the construction industry, the outsourced model is becoming more common," says Soininen.
When purchasing workwear, it is important to consider their maintenance
In early 2023, a new obligation will fall upon construction industry employers due to recent legislation: to ensure the maintenance and cleaning of employees' protective clothing. The method of implementation is to be agreed upon locally by February 28, 2023. Thus, the joint service solution also gives Dimex customers the opportunity to take care of workwear cleaning as easily as possible.
Timo Jutila, manager of Medanta's Pirkkala laundry, says that when workwear is maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions, it lasts longer. For example, Dimex clothing uses a lot of high-visibility colors and reflectors, so their functionality is also guaranteed by regular maintenance and proper low-temperature washing.
"Chips are added to Medanta's clothes, making it easy to track the wash cycle and lifespan. This way, we stay on top of how workwear has been maintained and when it is necessary to service it. Such chips will therefore also be found in Dimex clothes in the future," Jutila explains.
In addition to smart chips, logistics have also been made very easy for customers. Medanta's laundry handles the pick-up of dirty or damaged workwear and delivers them back clean and serviced.
"It is great that our customers can find a partner for washing and servicing their own clothes so easily. Through this cooperation, both of us can expand our product and service offerings, for which we have noticed a clear need on the side of both sets of customers," says Dimex's Sales and Marketing Director Petteri Tirkkonen.
Together, Medanta and Dimex provide even more added value to their customers
By choosing the Medanta-Dimex combination, the customer gets to choose the exact products, services, and implementation methods they need. Comfortable and practical workwear is an important part of enjoying one's work. In addition, clean and properly maintained workwear lasts longer and thus lowers the total cost of procurement. With the future in mind, the cooperation brings a necessary service solution to facilitate the everyday lives of both Medanta and Dimex customers.
